It may reach considerable size and is very similar to the black truffle, the outer surface is presented with pyramidal warts brown color and has an intense aroma. To cut it recognizes the valuable black because the glebe is more clear, tending to dark yellow with thin white veins. It grows both in sandy and clayey, in deciduous and pine forests. Despite having a market price lower middle, it is used abundantly by the processing industry and the fresh market as it is the only truffles ripen summer. The collection period is from 15 May to 15 September and from 15 November to 31 December.
